<p style="text-align: left;">Today marks the 50th anniversary of the beer can according to the <a href="http://www.rockymountainnews.com/news/2009/jan/22/a-golden-milestone/">Rocky Mountain News</a> so we thought we would celebrate by not only having a can of beer ourselves, but also by showing you a video we found on Youtube of the Beer Can Museum in East Taunton around 40 miles south of Boston. The Museum features a collection of more than 3500 different beer cans along with other beer memorabilia. Watch the video above or check out the museum&#8217;s official website below.  <span id="more-938"></span></p>

This great attraction is just out side of the Victorian / <st1:state w:st="on">New South Wales</st1:state> border town of <st1:city w:st="on">Echuca</st1:city> on the mighty <st1:place w:st="on">Murray River</st1:place>.  This unique and popular tourist attraction features well over 16,000 cans from all around the world plus plenty of other beer related paraphernalia including beer taps, brewery equipment and signage. There are over 5000 square foot of displays and some extremely rare cans and bottles on display.  This would have to be one of the world&#8217;s best and most extensive beer collections.<o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Georgia">For more information; <a href="http://www.greataussiebeershed.com.au/"><font color="#800080">http://www.greataussiebeershed.com.au/</font></a><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p><span style="font-family: Georgia">What could be a better day out than a few freshly brewed free beers and a look around a brewery? At Ashahi Breweries in <st1:city w:st="on">Nagoya</st1:city> <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Japan</st1:place></st1:country-region> they are offering this great adventure. Tours are conducted in Japanese and also English. The tour is quiet an eye opener, with the brewery being one of the most modern around. The equipment is very high tech and the fermenting tanks are monstrous.  You get a really good understanding of how beer is produced and packaged over about 90 minutes, before ending up at the best bit the tasting room for a few free samples and the odd seafood cracker- delicious.  You can stay a little longer and have lunch and pay for a few extra beers if you wish. If you are really nice to the friendly customer relations people they might even send an extra free on your way if things are not very busy.<span id="more-319"></span><o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Georgia"><v:shapetype stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" o:preferrelative="t" o:spt="75" coordsize="21600,21600" id="_x0000_t75"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v:path o:connecttype="rect" gradientshapeok="t" o:extrusionok="f"></v:path><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype>Now probably the best time to visit is a certain Sunday in the middle of May when the brewery puts on a Customer Thanks Day. You couldn&#8217;t imagine how popular this is with free beer and food on the beautifully manicured gardens. A few people have that good a time, they fall into the ornamental pond with the carp- probably the Aussies or Kiwis!<o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Georgia">The easiest way to get to the brewery by train from <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Nagoya</st1:place></st1:city> station:  Take the JR Chuo line from Nagoya Station to JR Shin-Moriyama. The tickets cost about 650 yen one way and the journey takes about 15 minutes. Then walk to the brewery takes about another 5 -10.<o:p></o:p></span><span style="font-family: Georgia">For more information, opening times and whether bookings are being taken visit the Asahi website or give them a call; <o:p></o:p></span> <a href="http://www.asahibeer.co.jp/english/companye/brewery.html">http://www.asahibeer.co.jp/english/companye/brewery.html</a></p>
