Beer keeps getting a bad rap for all the bad things it is suppose to do to our bodies but Korean brewer Hite has produced a new beer that may even be good for you. Hite’s new beer is named S and is targeted to the Korean youth market, the interesting thing about S is that they have added 0.5g of dietary fiber to the beer. Dietary fiber is known to enhance intestine movement to help people keep in shape and prevent the hardening of arteries by lowering cholesterol in the blood. Hite claim the recommended daily dietary fiber allowance for Koreans ranges from 20g to 25g while the average intake is only about 17.3g. Cass Beer is one of South Korea’s most popular both packaged and draugh. It is a very light coloured mild tasting Asian pilsner style beer which has the foamy head like you would see in Japan and some of the other countries in the region. It’s quiet a refreshing taste although not as complex as some. The Cass Lager is a fairly new product being introduced in 1994, the brewers The Oriental Brewing company use a 100% non pasteurized brewing process to produce this drop. The company is run by InBev which owns huge products like Stella and have just about half of the Korean market. The Cass Lager is not usually found outside Asia, but some specialty stores do stock it, and is well worth picking up a few when you see them.
