Most of the world thinks its not very nice eating whales and we agree. But many Japanese appear to need to eat them after they do their so called scientific research – haven’t they tried cows? Blue Tounge beer in Sydney Australia has taken the step to link their tasty beer with the horrors of whale slaughter with this somewhat unpleasant ad. Hopefully it will help change the minds of the people who enjoy eating these magnificent creatures and they will reach for a bottle of beer instead – im sure the beer is much tastier and wouldn’t have that fishy smell! (Just a little warning today’s You Tube video might be too graphic for some but thankfully no whale is shown being hurt in this advertisment) Save the Whales!!

Baisha Beer from China
Baisha Beer is brewed by one of Inbev’s breweries in Changsha, China, Inbev is responsible for some of the world’s biggest brands including Stella Artois, Becks and Brahma. They have just launched a pretty elaborate mythological themed ad which is well worth a look and is getting rave receptions in the advertising world. The brewer is currently undergoing massive expansion plans which will see an increase of over 50,000000 litres of beer being produced a year.
Sapporo Black Label
Sapporo Black Label celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and is the premium product of the Sapporo range. Recently to higlight the Nama, or real taste in Japanese the beer has been marketed more towards restaurants and bars in bottled form. It’s a tasty drop and this You Tube advertisement is a bit of fun, its a cross between a Japanese BBQ and a game of soccer and some sort of martial arts- you have got to see it to believe it.
Open a Ochakovo comrade!
Here’s a bit of a treat, we don’t usually get to see too much Russian TV. Here is a commercial for Ochakovo Beer which actually originates from Moscow and are the country’s third biggest brewer. They got into a bit of hot water a few years back after the trade ministry alleged they used banned chemicals in their brews, but this was quashed in the courts. The ministry was in the end forced to take out newspaper advertisements stating the beer was perfectly safe to drink. More recently the brewery has launched a non pasteurised beer that contains live yeast and more nutrients. It needs to be drunk fast as the beer will go off but it’s vitimins and minerals are meant to be good for you. The beer is delivered to the bottleshop in steel kegs then poured into plastic ready labeled plastic bottles when sold the beer can stay in the keg for up to 14 days and must be drunk within three days of being repackaged. Due to the need to keep this beer fresh it is not found outside Moscow and plans are a foot to expand to other Russian centres like Krasnodar and Penza.
i’ll have one Tui and a National Park for beer
Tui is one of the favorite beers across the ditch in New Zealand. Tui is originally from the small North Island town of Mangatainoka and is in the process of spending a huge amount of money refurbishing a magnificent park around their soon to be opened museum which is on the site of their old brewery. They are planting 4000 square metres of lawn and 2000 native trees. Tui was founded by Henry Wagstaff in 1889 and its biggest selling beer is the tasty East India Ale, the brewery is now controlled by DB Breweries. While we wait for it to open later this year, we can sit back and watch this great You Tube commercial.
