With the weather starting to get better in the Northern Hemisphere we thought a summer ale would make a good beer for today and why not from Alaska. Today’s beer is the Alaskan Summer Ale which is a Kolsche style beer a bit like what you would be drinking if you were in Cologne Germany. It’s a soft malted beer with a fresh hops taste and a lovely straw gold color. Very easy to drink and the perfect drop for a nice summers day. The beer was first brewed in 1997 and is brewed on a limited release over the summer period, made with the freshest of glacier fed water which comes from the Juneau Ice Field, and using both European and Pacific Nortwest Hops, plus two row and specialty hops. Look for the lovely orange packaging and the Killer Whale on the label, it wont be hard to miss in your bottleshop.
