This is a really easy treat to make and the rich flavor of Guinness or your best dark brew will really bring a lovely taste to this old family favorite.
3 cups of plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons sugar
3 eggs, separated
250ml of Guinness at room temperature
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup melted butter
All you need to do is sift the flour with the baking powder, salt and sugar.
Beet the eggs yolks and stir in the beer, butter and milk then stir in the flour fixture. Beat the egg whites until peaks form then stir into your batter. Drop spoonsfulls into a hot greased pan and turn when batter forms lots of holes. Serve with jam and cream.
