When you think of Dutch beers Heineken usually comes to mind but Amstel is another very popular beer from the Netherlands which can be found in over 75 countries around the globe. Amstel was first brewed in Amsterdam on the Mauritskade by the Amstelbrowerij or Amstel Brewery which dates back to about 1870. Today the beer is made in quite a few countries around the world and was taken over by Heineken in 1989. Recently Amstel has brought their beer out in a fancy new bottle with molded label and interesting pull top which really makes it stand out from the crowd and inside it is the same fresh tasting beer we love to drink.
