A beer a day keeps doctor away

There’s some pretty clever boffins at Germany’s Technical University in Munich are working on a special brew which it is hoped will prevent cancer. They have found that hops contain a cancer fighting substance calledxanthohumol which they are trying to enhance them to come up with a recipe to kill this horrible and deadly disease. Hops has been a herbal remedy for hundreds of years and is used as a muscle relaxant and also has some useful compounds which may help prevent osteoporosis, post menopausal problems as well as cancer. The xanthohumol has the ability to shut down enzymes which are called dcytochromes P4 they are the nasty enzymes responsible for activating cancer. Zanthohomol has been proven to be able to kill all sorts of cancer including colon, breast, ovarian and prostate which are four of the biggest killers. Let’s all hope they have success and that beer helps cure these awful cancers.
