Victoria Bitter or VB as it is universally known is probably Australia’ favourite beer. There is a myth outside Australia that Fosters is the beer of Australia, but in-fact Fosters does not experience large sales in it’s home country.
Just about any beer drinker in any situation will drink VB, whether it be a bbq or at a red carpet function- it is one of the few beer products which can stand up to the best. It is pleasant tasting, pleasant smelling and very pleasant to drink.
In recent years VB, which is a full strength 4.9% bitter larger, has been produced in other states as well as its hometown of Melbourne and is popular throughout the country, in both packaged and tap draught beer. Carlton and United the beer brewer has been very clever in its advertising of the product with the log running “a hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer” campaign.
