Southwark Bitter

southwark-bitter.gif

This beer is a very bitter beer, it is 25 IBUs on the International Bitterness Units. Beer like this was very popular in the 1940′s and 1950′s but Southwark is the only remaining mainstream beer of this type still on sale today. The beer is brewed in South Australia and although bitter is very easy to drink and quite well balanced and somewhat sweet. The beer is sold as one of the main stream products in South Australia but is more of a boutique beer in the Eastern States, and is not readily available.
