Last Saturday with temperatures reaching over 47 degrees (117 Fahrenheit) large areas of Victoria in southern Australia was devastated by bushfires. The fires are still raging and hundreds of people have been killed and nearly a thousand homes destroyed. But the Australian community is pulling together with huge fundraisers, and already have donations of tens of millions of dollars. The pubs are getting in on the act too and doing their bit, with special fund raisers, raffles, games and the like to help get much needed supplies to the people who have been left with nothing.
