
The Cascade brewery is the oldest brewery in Australia and lies in the pristine forest south of Hobart in Tasmania’s rugged island. The original brewery dates back to 1824 and is now owned by Australian brewing giant Carton and United.
The Cascade product has been a very popular range of beers for over 170 years and in recent times has been introduced to mainland Australia as a premium beer product with some of it actually being now produced on the mainland.
Visitors to Tasmania should not miss a tour of this historic brewery it is full of rich heritage and very interesting. A guided tour takes you through the brewing process and entire complex and finishes up with a taste of the freshest and tastiest beer the brewery has to offer. The Cascade plant makes seasonal boutique beers along with a full range of traditional draught and bottled beers. Cascade also makes a large range of apple cider and quality soft drink products including a great ginger beer and sarsaparilla or root beer.
