Carlton Dry Fusion with a touch of lime

carlton-dry-fusion.gif

Australia’s Carlton and United Breweries are the latest brewery to try their hand at a beer with salt and lime added. The Carlton Dry Fusion has just been released onto the local market and if the first few weeks of trade are any indication this drink is going to be one of the most popular boutique beers this summer in Australia. The beer is a full strength beer but with 25% lower carbohydrates than normal beer, so not only does it taste great it helps that dreaded beer belly away while lazing on the beach this summer. The dry taste is really enhanced with the twist of freshly squeezed lime and salt giving it a really refreshing taste. The might be a little hard to get until all the bottle shops and pubs stock it, but trust Hoppsy, the wait will be worth it- we really think most beer drinkers and a lot of people who are not too keen on beer will really enjoy it. It should really help open up a new market.

If you have tried the new Carlton Dry Fusion drop us a line and tell us what you thought of it below

I brought a slab of these the other night for a party i was attending and i must say i enjoyed them only drinking half the slab that night. Took the other half slab with me last night to another party and i found that after 6 or so i couldn’t stomach them as such, just sorta really salty… anyway love the stuff!

Really awesome beer, great alternative to Corona. Although had about 10 last night, and now I don’t feel so flash. But that’s to be expected isn’t it.

No Sue- Carlton Lime Fusion is only available in bottles. Perhaps Carlton and United should consider cans for the summer festival season where glass is banned- they would do pretty well in cans- even plastic bottles might work. thanks for your comment!

‘Carlton dry fusion’ well firstly I must say cheers to the boys from Carlton for stepping out and trying something different. The beer has an exeptional dry aftermath in the mouth and the lime and hint of salt work in so perfectly. I found that a frosted glass, a lime wedge and a little salt around the rim sets this beverage off. I was left with a nice taste that I keep thinking could be accompanied by maybe a hint of honey buts thats my tates buds for you. Cheers Carlton brewers

I’m just back from the bottleshop with a Lemon Fusion. Its the same as the lime but with lemon and it tastes fantastic. Can beer get any better?
    I think not!

Perhaps a grapfruit or even cranberry might be an interesting twist for you to think about Mr CUB.

Keep em coming Carlton Lemon Fusion is delicious!

Carlton Dry Fusion Lime, or as I refer to it at the pubs where they know me, Carlton Green, is a tasty beverage! I didn’t even realize it contained salt until I read it here, months after I started drinking it (probably 6 slabs worth, I’d guess). I think it doesn’t exactly taste like a beer, thoguh. People compare it to Corona, but Corona TASTES like a beer, and you add your own lime. Fusion Lime seems like something DIFFERENT, but from my female perspective, it’s a nice refreshing drink.

It’s nudged out wine or Corona as my beverage of choice when out at the pubs, if the pub has it on hand. I’ll admit I’ve resorted to having a barmaid hide the last few bottles from the next night’s barmaid, so that I can ask for one the next night… and when she says they’re out, tell her where to find them. :-) I feel kinda funny drinking this stuff while all around me the XXXX and Bundy’s is being poured (am I telegraphing “beer wimp”?), but oh well.

My big challenge is either finding the stuff when I’m in America, or figuring out how to get a slab or two back with me. Mostly for myself, of course, but gotta share a few tastes with the friends. C’mon, you can imagine the suitcase full of terry-towel-wrapped stubbies, and the resulting scene behind the scenes at the airport when someone just has to find out WTF that strange picture on the xray is all about. Then again, I’d imagine I’d not be the first person who’s tried a personal export of Aussie beer…..

Wicked beer, Lime and Lemon are winners ;-) The only beer I drink is Corona’s and now I have dropped them like hot cakes. I came home with a carton of each after trying it at a friends and he thought all his Christmas’s had come at once!!!
