The 333 or Ba Ba Ba as the Vietnamese pronounce it is a very popular rice lager which is sold around South East Asia and even exported as far away as France, the USA and Australia. The beer dates back over 100 years to 1893 and was originally called 33 but during the 1970′s the extra 3 was added to its name. The beer is produced by Beer Saigon and they have a job which there must be a line the length of Ho Chi Minh City to apply, they have a beer taster who samples each batch to make sure it meets the company’s higest standards. Vietnam makes some good beers, and dosen’t use a lot of the preservative chemicals used in a lot of the other Asian beers, making it much crisper and easer on the head the next morning. The beer has a 5.3 percent alcohol reading so it gives quiet a kick, expecially in the hot Vietnamese sun.
