Quilmes from Argentina
By Rocky | March 4, 2008

Quilmes is the most popular beer in Argentina, it is a pilsner style beer and is brewed by the Cerveceria y Maltera Quilmes company using local hops, malt and crystal clear Patagonian waters. The brewery started in 1888 when an German immigrant called Otto Bemberg started brewing in Buenos Aries and it only took a little over 20 years to become the country’s biggest brewer and has about 75% of the Argentinean market share for beer. The are a major sponsor of the mighty Argeninian Soccer team and are now owned by the huge AmBev Company which owns brands like Grolsch, SABMiller and Stella.
