When you think of Mexican Beer Corona is the beer that comes to mind but there are so many other great Mexican beers available including Sol. Light and refreshing and tasting a lot like Corona Sol is delicious. The beer dates back to the late 1890’s when a German brewer made the first batch just outside of Mexico City. Legend tells it that he named the beer El Sol after the Spanish word for Sun. In 1924 the El was dropped and it has been known simply as Sol ever since. This beer is great chilled ice cold and drank straight out of the bottle, some like the lemon or lime just like the Corona but its pretty good just on it’s own. Look out for it next time you have some tacos or nachos at the local Mexican Restaurant.

Sol tastes like piss, just like all the other mexican beers. The only german that would brew in mexico is one that didn’t think they could contend in germany (because they have actually beer there, not alcoholic lemonade like sol).

We like Sol as an alternative to Corona when we go for mexican. Im not sure what piss tastes like but sol washes down nacho’s well. We love German beer too but probably wouldn’t have it with mex food. If we were at a bar or bottle shop we prob would pick a german variety over Sol. It’s horses for courses.

1. Sol is one of the more palatable beers to a non-drinker. (Bored one day with a few friends, covered a few bottles with tape).
2. If you compare your beers to your piss, I’m not sure anyone cares about your opinion.
3. Beer is an acquired taste, which means your subjective and blatantly rude and inconsiderate opinion doesn’t reflect that of the world, no matter how egotistical you are
4. Drinking Sol right now, but if I had the choice it would be something different.
